We all want to change the world and make it a better place, but the task seems so impossible and daunting that we don’t know where to begin. Well the truth is a simple act of kindness can do much more than you think. Helping a lost person find their way, buying someone food, complimenting your friend’s shirt, carrying an old person’s bag. All of these seemingly simple actions can make all the difference.
A chain reaction of good can start because of your choice to help someone. I know I’ve been inspired by seeing someone selflessly helping another, I’m sure you have as well. And plus, if you need a selfish reason to be kind, knowing that you made someone’s day better without hope for a reward is actually one of the best, most genuine kinds of happiness there is.
We all know what it’s like to feel down, when the day/month/year you’ve having just sucks. You don’t know what someone is dealing with, so if there’s a chance that you can make their day better, take it. There is already enough hatred and suffering in this world, and we have to do our best not to add to it. Empathy and compassion is our gift as human beings, it is our greatest strength, our little candlelight in the dark, together we can make sure the flame never goes out.
