What will we leave behind after we die? For the majority, it only takes a couple of generations for ourselves to be forgotten forever. Most of us know our grandparents, but how many of us remember our great-grandparents? Or even our family before that? It is said that every person dies twice. First is when they pass away from this world, and the second is when their name is spoken for the last time… When their memory is no longer remembered by anyone. 

On a cosmic scale, we live such short lives. Compared to the lifespans of stars and planets, we are but tiny specks of dust blowing past. But this doesn’t mean that our lives are meaningless, it doesn’t mean that our existence should be taken for granted. Each of us has a duty to this world and to our fellow humans, to make this world a better place. How we do that is up to us, for we each have a different role to play. Find your voice and make your mark. Carry with you a spark that will light a fire in the hearts of others, to make sure your fight lives on after you’re gone. Build a legacy that will be worth remembering for generations to come. Our time may be limited, but it’s what we do with it that counts. 

So, let’s take a moment to remember the people that we lost, what were the legacies they left behind? What were the words of wisdom they once said to you, the precious memories you created together. Let’s make sure that their memory and spirit lives on with us, their legacy always a part of us. And may they never be forgotten.
