If you think I have siblings, no, I don't. For many years my parents and I dreamed that one day that time would come. Puppy, we finally have puppy.
It began on the second day of school, the dog owner, who was mum's friend, asked mum about the puppy we wanted to adopt. Finally, my parents agreed to pick up the puppy right away. When they picked me up from school, they told me we would pick the puppy up and I was shocked and nervous. Well, it's not only me who feels that way, but my parents also feel the same way.
So first of all we went to a pet shop to buy such as bedding, a cage, food, and much more. Then we headed to Kopo where we were going to meet the dog owner. We finally arrived at the meet-up point and waited a few minutes until we were seeing her.
The puppy we originally picked up was supposed to be one female, but the owner bought two puppies instead. She forced us to take them, because she already has too many puppies. However we are worried that when they grow up they would have other puppies that would be too much for us. She insists we take all the puppies because if only one then it would feel lonely. Well of course we can not refuse to kidnap these two tiny little creatures. Oops. I meant to adopt. Sorry. Okay, let's move on. Then we put them in the cage that was already in the trunk of the car.
We got into the car and dad started the conversation by asking "What are we going to name these puppies?". I thought very hard to give these puppies a unique name, but instead, my parents had come up with a name idea immediately. Well, infact I'm not the first one to give them name, though I always wanted to be the first. Wait. But that doesn't mean I can't give them their last name right? By the way, mum gave the name Oreo to the male, because he has black and white coat. It was very common name, don't you think? And for the female, dad gave her name Kapucino, written in Indonesian so that the name is not too long. The reason is because she has a brown coat similar to Cappuccino and also white like milk froth. For their last name, I had to do some research first to find the right name. Finally, their names officially became Oreo McFlurry and Kapucino Frappé. After we decided on their names, we went to the veterinary clinic closest to our house to check their health and schedule deworming and vaccines.
On the way to the veterinary clinic, mum found Kapucino vomit on Oreo. Seems like Kapucino has motion sickness like me. The doctor said that the puppies should not vaccinate and we couldn't lift them up in the first two weeks, and on that time give them the same food as what the previous owner always gave, because they have to adapt to the new environment. At first, it was hard for me not to play with them, but I was getting used to it. Then we went home, and immediately gave them wet food. Wow! We didn't expect them to eat so voraciously.
Finally my dream came true, now I have pets and learn to be responsible at the same time. Even though pet expenses are not cheap, we are willing to pay for them because it is our responsibility. Moreover, we get these dogs for free, how could we still hesitate to spend money for their needs? The point is we must take good care of our pets because they have become part of our family.
