AES89 Advice from an Astronaut

Decide in your heart what really excites and challenges you, and start moving your life in that direction. Every decision you make, from what you eat and what you do with your time tonight, turns you into who you are tomorrow, and the day after that. Look at who you want to be, and start sculpting yourself to be that person. You may not get exactly where you thought you’d be, but you will be doing things that suit you in a profession you believe in.

Don’t let life randomly kick you into the adult you don’t want to become.

-Chris Hadfield-

The former Canadian Commander of the International Space Station, Chris Hadfield is a very inspiring and surprisingly down to earth figure for an astronaut. When watching the Apollo 11 launch as a child, he was determined that he too one day, will be an astronaut. And amazingly enough, his dream came true. After he graduated college, Chris Hadfield joined the Canadian Armed Forces and became a test pilot for experimental aircrafts for the military. From here he was selected to be one of the Canadian astronauts by NASA from a field of almost 6.000 extremely qualified candidates. Since then he has done many successful space flights, primarily aboard the ISS. He is also the first person ever to record an album in space, that alone is a pretty cool achievement!
