This happened some time ago, I wrote this in my phone notes but never post it anywhere.

Your kids are the perfect copy of you.
What I learned today is that my littlest manage to remember and repeat what I told her to say exactly the way I told her, even much better than what we practised!
I'm amazed and I feel super impressed and very proud of her.
So the story goes like this, she got this presentation today but when we were in the car this morning and I asked did she practised it, she said she hadn't got a chance. So just like a real deadliner mom, I tried to make her practice her speech while I'm driving. I give her an example of how to speak to a wide audience (with my limited knowledge of presentation) and I told her to repeat after me. That's the only way I can think of in that short moment of driving. She repeat it only once, so I thought ok no problem if she doesn't remember later on. Just let her do it her way or she can follow the example of her other friends since she is number 9 in the presentation queue.
Lo and behold it was time and I was really surprised to see how well she did it. She even says it exactly like we practised in the car this morning and doesn't look nervous at all. Wow... I'm impressed, maybe this is what a proud parent feels like, not that I have high hope that she will successfully do it on her first try. Or maybe it's just me that put my expectations too low.
In conclusion: Dear parents never underestimate your children.
