On occasion, we are reminded of the time passing by. And there’s no better reminder than our birthday. It means that you’ve survived another full year living on Earth, what’s happened during that time? What have you accomplished? Are you closer to your goals? 

A lot of things have changed for the past year, and yet some things remain the same. We’re all still pretty much stuck inside due to covid, we got used to the new normal, doing mostly everything through the internet. I’ve met new people, experienced new things and learned a lot. There’s still a lot I need to improve on, but a step forward is progress nonetheless. 

Time used to feel a lot slower when I was younger, nowadays it all seems to go by so quickly. Days turn to weeks, turn to months and then a full year. And every year it seems to go by even faster. I can’t imagine what it would be like 10 years from now. Where would I even be then? I sure hope that I’ll be doing something good with my life. 

Time adds perspective to our life, it wouldn’t matter if we lived forever, but our time is limited. We have so little time to chase our dreams, spend time with the people we love, all while we’re trying to survive in this world and going about our daily business. I think it’s a good time to re-evaluate what you want out of life, and whether you’re still on track. It’s also important to enjoy the little things, while not ignoring the big picture stuff you’re working towards. Remember that life is a wonderful gift that we shouldn’t take for granted.
