By the way, this topic is going to be a bit controversial or a bit of an issue, reader discretion is advised.
Smoking, Why do people hate it, why do people love it, some people depend their life on cigarettes, why do people want to do it cause it looks cool, why do people do it? does it taste like steak or candy, should I do it to look cool, my family and friends do it I think I should too, smoking kills, and many more things talked about cigarettes. the rate of teenage smoking in Indonesia is already 37.60% in 2020 and in 2000 which is 35.40%, and smoking in Indonesia is common as there are approximately 57 million smokers in Indonesia. as a daily smoker myself I don't really know why I do it, I just kept on buying and buying until I can't count how many pack f cigarettes I bought, back then I was an anti-smoker cause I used to destroy my family members cigaret packs and would get headaches if I was near someone who smoked. and for me, I didn't think its cool, or I have to join in to be included cause I generally hate it. and you might be asking, how did I become a smoker myself? well, that all happened in the year 2020 and I met a friend with that I hang out a lot. he's already a smoker since the age of 14 and when he met me he was 16, he introduce me to the world of vaping ( electronic cigarettes that don't use tobacco but nicotine-infused liquid).
at that time I was mesmerized by the vapor of the vape cause it was a lot and you can make rings out of it plus it doesn't smell bad like other cigarettes, so in the end, he gave me one of his vape pods and I gave it a try for a month. and I was immediately hooked on it and it tastes good, at that time I didn't know how powerful nicotine is cause in my mind I didn't feel anything and I don't know what does nicotine feel like, but that was one of the things I hoped I knew from nicotine and how your brain thinks that you can just stop any time you want. Nicotine feels like nothing and you don't immediately get the effect of it, but after a while, you want more and reaching to the point that you can't leave smoking for more than an hour and that's when smoking becomes dangerous. you don't feel addicted to nicotine after more than 20 packs of cigarettes and that doesn't mean you can just smoke 20 packs and then stop cause It doesn't work like that, our brain is curious and wants to try it again if it feels good and I fell in too that trap and being completely blind to the consequences. and the truth is I'm already at the point of addiction and it doesn't feel good cause I already feel the impact of it example I am easily out of breath, can't stop doing it, and spend a lot and I mean it a lot of money from buying it.
so for all the people who never smoked or want to, I highly advise not to. cause you don't need to please other people or do it cause you think is cool. and if you do want to do it I suggest talking to your parents about it or just trying once or twice for the experience of it and do it in front of your parents by asking them or asking for permission. and some small words from me, I think people who don't smoke or those who can refuse someone's offer to try a cigaret are one of the coolest people there cause they are part of the percentage of people in Indonesia who don't smoke and for that they're amazing
I think that's all for today again I know this is a sensitive one and if someone is offended by it I'm sorry, peace
"tu es addictif et je déteste ça"
Thank you for writing and being open, at the same time being neutral about it.
My father when he was young was a really heavy smoker so he couldn't forbid me to smoke. But I didn't, well I did when I went camping with some friends, just to gave it a taste but that's it. It is common knowledge that smoking is bad for you even e-cig because you're inhaling chemicals into your body. But it also disturbs non smokers, that's why it is basically rude when you smoke in public places. Other than that, it is your own responsibility, yet it showed how you respect your own body. 🙏🌱😇
